Unholding - A reflective Cirlce

Unholding

An eight-part online circle exploring how we meet ourselves, others and life.

Over time we all develop tendencies in how we meet ourselves, others and life. Some continue to serve us, while others may simply remain because they've become familiar. We don't usually decide to live this way. More often, these ways of responding grow quietly through our experiences until one day we realise they've become part of how we move through the world.

Over the years, through my own practice, teaching and counselling conversations, I've become increasingly curious about these tendencies. Not because they're problems to solve, but because they often tell us something about how we've learnt to meet life. Sometimes they still support us. Sometimes they quietly ask to be looked at with fresh eyes.

Unholding has grown from that curiosity.

It isn't about becoming a better version of yourself or learning to get rid of difficult experiences. Nor is it about trying to achieve a particular state of calm. Instead, it is an invitation to spend some time together exploring the ways we have learnt to meet ourselves, others and life, and noticing what becomes possible when awareness, movement, stillness and conversation are given the time they deserve.

The circle will be small, allowing each person to arrive as they are and explore at their own pace. There is no expectation to share more than feels right, no pressure to have anything worked out, and no particular destination we are trying to reach. Like any genuine conversation, each gathering will unfold a little differently, shaped by the people who are there and what naturally emerges between us.

Between the gatherings there will be time to simply live. To notice. To practise if you wish. To discover how awareness continues beyond the circle and into everyday life.

If something in these words feels familiar, perhaps this is simply the right time for us to explore together.

A commitment to the circle

This is a small reflective circle that unfolds over time. As we meet together, the conversations, trust and relationships within the group naturally deepen.

If you're considering joining, I'd simply ask that you're able to make the circle a genuine priority during these months and plan to attend at least seven of the eight gatherings. Life, of course, sometimes has other plans, but this shared commitment helps create the continuity that allows the circle to become what it can be.
