What is Chi Kung?


Shaolin Cosmos Qi gong has a lineage stretching back 1500 years to Bodhidharma. When practiced correctly this art promises good health, increased energy, mental freshness/clarity and spiritual growth from an efficient 15-minute daily practice. It also provides the foundation for effective meditation.

Is it magic?

Qi gong (Chi Kung) is not magic – although the results achieved often seem miraculous. It is rooted in a deep understanding of the way illness, lack of energy and unhelpful emotional/mental states arise and the natural way the human mind and body can heal itself. The word Qigong means ‘energy work’ or ‘skill in using energy’.


Getting the benefits...

A skillful Chi Kung practitioner will be healthy, happy, have lots of energy and be able to handle everyday life well - even challenging situations when they occur. Ideally, if they have been practicing correctly for some time, this will be effortless. This developmental stage gives a wonderful foundation for learning advanced skills and achieving all that Chi Kung can offer.

So why doesn’t everybody get the benefits? There are clear reasons why people are unsuccessful in maintaining their development and achieving the full potential of these arts – learnt sometimes painfully by many people over many centuries. Knowing that this can happen to the most intelligent, diligent or “moral” student can be a great source of comfort – because then you learn from 1500 years of collective experience and do something about it.
